I HAVE A HOMELAND
Over my dear land blue sky is shining
All day long, and stars come out at night,
Tranquilly they spread their silver cover,
And the early sunrise puts them out.
But, alas, when I will have to turn back,
Come back home in darkness, through thick fog,
I am sure my enemy will be there,
Waiting, full of hate, behind some rock.
Mother, you have raised me to be patient,
Love God's creatures, never hate in vain,
And I'm sure I never would of hated,
But I want to eat, and be a free man.
